Summary:
Performs complex electrical engineering tasks. Acts as a senior technical consultant or project leader, and as a liaison with other departments, divisions and organizations. May provide functional management and supervisory role for electrical engineering group. Provides technical direction to research, design, development, test and engineering activities. Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Reviews project progress and evaluates results. Estimates cost, schedule, manpower, and technical direction for proposal efforts. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Provides technical direction to digital, analog, subsystem or radio frequency hardware development/engineering programs, team members and managers. o Outlines and communicates the most appropriate technical approach for business development activities. o Determines the technical direction and strategy for solving complex, significant or major issues. o Identifies, investigates and resolves technical issues. o Plans and evaluates system architectural design, reviews system performance and identifies technical risks and associated ways to mitigate those risks. o Analyzes and prepares specifications. o Participates in design reviews. o Designs, develops and implements hardware. o Coordinates circuit design of components. o Communicates technical advancements through briefings and technical papers to co-workers, management staff, customers, and technical community, as appropriate. o Maintains state-of-the-art awareness in areas of technical expertise - changes, advancements and improvements. o Applies expertise to all areas of electronic engineering and development. o Responsible for innovation and creativity in broad area of electrical engineering and development. o Provides functional or resource planning guidance to engineering and management staff or groups. o Interfaces with team members, management staff, customers, subcontractors, and vendors. o Identifies electrical engineering process improvements, and enforces the execution of them across the organization. o Manages engineering metrics. Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in electronic engineering or science discipline plus a minimum of twelve years experience; or an applicable Masters of Science degree and ten years of related experience. Experience to include hardware development/engineering, exercising creativity in technical direction and successful strategy development. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, interface with customers, subcontractors and vendors, and deal with employees and managers at all levels in manufacturing, engineering and other departments. Ability to use typical office automation products such as word processing and spreadsheets. Knowledge of customer needs and competing products. Must be able to solve complex and difficult engineering problems. Ability to work under project deadlines and associated cost and schedule constraints. May be required to travel domestically and internationally to include working odd hours, in-line with customer requirements Worker Type:

Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
