PPG Aerospace has a unique opportunity for an Electronic Engineer! As the Electronic Engineer, you will research and develop activities at PPG in windshield health monitoring. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for idea generation, planning, and leading software development, hands-on experimentation toward innovative technical solutions and partnership with contractors (DER, electronic assemblers). Working within a motivated experienced team, you are encouraged to perform new and innovative developments in electronic components for aircraft windshields utilizing new and existing technologies. Responsibilities include planning, documentation, prototypes preparation, relevant testing according to DO-160 and aerospace regulations, performing analytical measurements/submissions, lead software/firmware development, and effectively communicating results to internal and external customers. Will work with others to produce demonstrations. Responsible for hands-on software development/troubleshooting (C, embedded C, Java), and performing trial development in accordance with DO-160 and demonstration. Qualifications M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing, physics and electronics required. Understanding of, electronics, wireless communication and programming electronic components. Knowledge of DO-160 and communication protocols are a plus. Ability to self-start and maintain an attention to detail and documentation are essential for this position. Self-starter and be able to work effectively with minimal direction. Excellent experimental, documentation, and organizational skills required. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Ability to craft and perform experiments based on statistical principles. Domestic travel may be required approximately 10%. Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical Engineering, Hardware DevelopmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
