InPatient Verifier (FT) Financial Counseling

Overview:
Obtains and enters demographic and financial information for all patient types.
Works closely with physicians offices, inpatient floors, departments, and insurance companies to ensure correct information is obtained.
Responsible for obtaining co pay, deductible, and coinsurance information from insurance companies via phone, websites, or remote and entering into system so that bill will be correct.
Begins precertification process for urgent admissions.
Handles all customer service issues in a customer friendly manner.
Required to work as scheduled, which may include weekends, holidays, and being on call.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification High School/GED required.
Post-secondary education desired.
Experience Two to three years of customer service/public relations experience preferred.
Two to three years computer experience preferred.
Will consider one year of previous work experience in other fields.
Candidates with Registration, Medical Record or Billing experience will be given prior consideration over other candidates.
Additional Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written skills required.
Must possess ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a positive attitude.
Must demonstrate effective time management skills.
Must demonstrate efficiency and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
