OverviewFull-Time student of a specialized internal training program.
Perioperative RN Trainee participates in the 6-month formal education program developed by AORN to train RNs to practice in the role of a surgery circulator in the Operating Room (OR).
The Perioperative or Surgery RN Program prepares students to identify patient needs and prioritize care through the surgical experience utilizing assessment skills.
In the role, the Perioperative RN plans and delegates care based on the identified patient needs.
The Perioperative RN executes therapeutic physician orders and nursing interventions.
The Perioperative RN evaluates the patient's response to care and the attainment of or progress toward expected outcomes.
The Perioperative RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift.
