Estimating Manager
Job Summary APTIM has recently been awarded the Installation Support Services (ISS) contract for the U.
S.
Army Garrison - Redstone (USAG-R) Department of Public Works (DPW) servicing all of Redstone Arsenal.
This effort will include Pollution Control, Compliance, Environmental Restoration Services, Landfill Operations, Engineering & Work Management Services, Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, and Service Orders for Facilities, Waste Water, Steam and Infrastructure at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
Responsibilities :
Prepares detailed estimates in accordance with the scope of work, performing quantity take-offs, determining manpower, equipment requirements, material items and subcontractors.
Assists lead on larger proposals by performing discipline takeoff and estimating
Assists in obtaining quotes for material suppliers, equipment and subcontractors
Conducts bid review meeting with the Manager of Estimating, Project Manager, and/or business line management to finalize bid, markup, and strategies.
Performs estimating using the R.

Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes:
Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists.
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
Qualifications :
Minimum 2 years of estimating experience preferred
Working knowledge of projects and some experience at engineering, procurement, fabrication and/or construction.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office
Must be capable of developing estimates with minimal supervision and guidance from discipline specialists, senior estimators or estimating manager.
