Position Description:
The primary responsibility of the Director of Sales is to grow their Markets sales and profitability, through developing and executing their Market business plan.
The DOS will actively coach and develop their sales team, particularly through direct observations and ridealongs, and the DOS is expected to be in the field with the sales team three days or more each week.
The DOS will also contribute to the development of the monthly forecast and annual budget, and is accountable for achieving sales targets.
Furthermore, the DOS will be responsible for coordinating local activities with supply chain leaders, and Auto and Corporate sales leaders, to align on decisions that are best for ATDs business as a whole.
Lastly, the DOS is responsible for making face-to-face sales calls to high priority customers, and for developing strong and lasting relationships with key customers.

Responsibilities:
Manage cross-channel collaboration, coordinating sales efforts with Auto and Corporate sales leaders who operate in the assigned Market, fostering culture of one sales force and resolving conflicts with sales staff Actively coach and develop OAMs, particularly through direct observations and ridealongs Develop and execute market business plan that achieves sales and margin objectives Proactively identify market trends and competitive pressures and adapt strategy and plan in response Support the development and review of Outside Account Manager business plans Contribute to development of the monthly sales forecast and annual budget, and maintain accountability for achieving aligned upon sales targets Develop strong customer relationships and establish trust with large key customers Maximize sales opportunities through regular face-to-face sales calls Maintain fundamental knowledge of products, policies, and merchandising information to manage market growth and ensure team knowledge Share, promote, and implement best practices with colleagues throughout the Region, as well as the Sales Center of Excellence Coordinate with Regional Sales Operations Directors to develop and deploy sales initiatives that drive consistency in the sales org Coordinate with supply chain and operations leaders to align on activities that affect both sales and operations (e.

Education:
Minimum high school graduate or GED; prefer Bachelor's degree (B.

) from four-year College, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
Minimum 5 years sales experience; preferred 10 years or greater.
Combination of at least 3 years sales experience and at least 3 years management experience preferred Experience in leading people and managing high-performing teams preferred Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the company, in its discretion, may find appropriate and acceptableKey Competencies:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel required:
50+% of the time, travel throughout the Market and will require overnight stays.
Travel to the Field Support Center and other destinations will be required.
