Senior Reliability Engineer

The Defense Systems Sector, is seeking a talented Senior Reliability Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems.
The Senior Reliability Engineer will lead and manage other reliability engineers on large programs associated with the DoD, DARPA, NASA, and commercial applications.
The selected candidate will have a significant impact on the development of reliability artifacts such as reliability prediction, MTTR analysis, reliability block diagrams (RBD), reliability reports, statistics, FMEA, FTA, etc.
The selected candidate will be expected to interface with program management and executive leadership to resolve highly complex and significant problems using their expert technical knowledge.
The selected candidate will be experienced with using the Reliasoft tool and will serve as a Subject Matter Expert.
The selected candidate may present reliability engineering artifacts they have developed to the customer in formal design reviews and may serve as a customer liaison in many of their programs.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Reliability Engineer will work in a matrixed organization supporting multiple programs at once in a variety of engineering fields with all different team environments, from the large-scale programs that Leidos Defense is the prime contractor for, like the Hypersonics Weapons Program and High Energy Laser Program, to smaller-scale programs for which Dynetics provides support as a subcontractor to companies in the top 100 DoD contractors.
The candidate will join a diverse team of other reliability engineers, systems engineers and model-based systems engineers and have the opportunity to work on programs from their preferred background, as well as challenge themselves by working on programs outside of their expertise.
As a Senior Reliability Engineer, this candidate may serve as a Lead Reliability Engineer on at least one major program simultaneously, where they will manage tasking for a team of other, more junior reliability engineers.
In this role, the candidate will also interface with program leadership, customers, and line management.
The expectation is for the Senior Reliability Engineer to manage Reliability Engineering work internally within the Defense Systems Sector (and Leidos as a whole) by fielding requests from project managers, support Basis of Estimation (BoE) development for proposed reliability work, and shape the company s overall approach to Reliability Engineering via tool selection and training of other reliability team members.
The goal of the Defense Systems Sector is to eventually incorporate reliability analyses into a Model-Based Systems Engineering environment where possible.
Lastly, the Defense Systems Sector s focus is on hiring a candidate with subject matter expertise in reliability prediction analyses, but experience with production-related activities like Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS) is beneficial.
Basic
Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a Bachelor s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical/engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university.
Candidate must have at least 12
years of experience supporting DoD, NASA, or commercial programs as a reliability engineer or 10
years with MS degree.
Candidate must have experience conducting reliability-related analyses such as MTTR, MTBF, FMEA/FMECA, reliability block diagram, power dissipation, and derating.
Candidate must have experience mentoring other engineers and/or serving as a technical task lead on an engineering project.
Candidate must have experience in deriving reliability program requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
Candidate must have experience with Reliasoft and/or other reliability analysis tools such as Relyence.
Reliasoft is strongly recommended.
Certified ASQCRECandidate must have demonstrated experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Windchill.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

Preferred candidates will also have experience and/or working knowledge with:

Pay Range:
Pay Range $122,200.
00 - $220,900.
