Engineers in the Flight Systems Department provide solutions to complex, technical problems involving analysis, design, flight testing and/or autonomous solutions of various types of radars, missiles, space systems, hypersonics, acquisition systems, fixed & rotary wing aircraft, and more
Responsibilities:
Engineers in this position work on design and analysis of various components of ground-based or air-based radar systemsAreas of focus within this line of work include, but are not limited to:
o Antennas and Transmit/Receive Moduleso Transmitterso Receivers and Exciterso Signal Processorso Electronic Protectiono Waveform Analysis and Schedulingo Radar Mode Logic and Supporting Algorithms Engineers in this area perform design work and are also responsible for documenting their designs and reasoning through report writing and the occasional presentation to customersThis process is largely collaborative between the engineers, customers, and some end users in the modelling and simulation communityBasic
Qualifications:
o This position requires a fundamental understanding of some electrical and computer engineering concepts, particularly including electromagnetic wave propagation, signal processing, linear system theory, algorithm implementation and analysis, antenna theory, and linear algebraNot all these skills are utilized by every engineer, but the set of them are used by the team as they do various projects.
o Programming experience, particularly in Matlab or Python, is an advantage as they are commonly used in this industry.
o Candidate must possess strong technical communication skills and an ability to work both independently and in collaborative team environments.
o Candidates must be a resident of North Alabama area or willing to relocate to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL office.
o Prior to the start date, candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field from an ABET accredited school with 4 years or more of experience and minimum GPA of 3.
0A master's degree may be used in lieu of two years of experienceA doctoral degree may be used in lieu of five years of experience.
o Candidate must be a US citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or be eligible to acquire & maintain a Top Secret/SSBI ClearanceOriginal Posting Date:
