Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clerical and clinical support to the Emergency Department.
- Maintaining quality customer service standards and assisting in the flow of information within the department.
- A strong understanding of the Electronic Health Record of both the Lab systems and the Emergency Department system, as well Unit operations be key.
- Cross training as a secretary.
- Performs venipunctures, heelsticks, and fingersticks to obtain blood samples for testing purposes.
- Properly identifies patients and follows procedures for collection of specimens.
- Performs other related functions as assigned including EKG acquistions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a formal training course in phlebotomy procedures preferred.
- One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
