Job Description: Raytheon provides engineering, scientific and technical support contracting to NASA MSFC as a subcontractor to Jacobs Technology. Raytheon currently has a position for an SLS Avionics Engineer at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). The SLS Avionics Engineer will provide expertise in the design, development, test, and electrical integration of Booster avionics systems. The job will include the following: Provide detailed expertise and knowledge resulting from trade studies, concepts, requirements, systems engineering, program cost/schedules, application of complex aerospace technologies and lessons-learned from the development of the Constellation Ares I First Stage avionics system. Support all phases of design, development, and test activities of the SLS Booster Avionics system as well as the successful integration of associated electronic components. Provide expertise of the Avionics system to identify and determine potential integration issues through various upgrades to the architecture to support the SLS program. Provide briefings, review reports/technical documents, and attend program reviews as requested by the government. Required Skills: Minimum of 10 years of experience of design, test and electrical integration as well as requirement definition of the Ares I First Stage program Avionics system. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Personnel are required to be self-motivated team players familiar with working in a dynamic work environment Required Education (including Major): BS degree in an engineering discipline (electrical is preferred) Proof of U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain NAC Clearance is required Raytheon Intelligence, Information and
