Responsibilities
AEgis is seeking a highly qualified Research Scientist supporting the nano-optics research and development group. The Research Scientist will be responsible for developing the processes of nano fabrication and optical analysis of optical structures and should be familiar with various clean room equipment such as lithography, thin film deposition, and atomic force microscopy. Candidates with strong research background in nanophotonics and metamaterials is preferred with proven peered reviewed journal publication record. Research Scientist works collaboratively as a member of a research team in a dynamic work environment and must possess strong interpersonal skills to coordinate/ collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

30 days Getting up to speed with projects.
60 days Fully integrated into the daily operations of programs.
90 days Under minimum supervision can conduct research.
Qualifications
Ph. D. in physics or engineering.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
Established research background in nanophotonics, plasmonics and metamaterials.
Demonstrate strong Peer reviewed publication record.
Proficient in MATLAP, LabView and Solid work software packages.
Familiar with electromagnetic simulation software such CST Microwave studio or COMSOL.
Strong background in electron beam microscopy, lithography, thin film deposition, atomic force microscopy, ellipsometry, and Optical/FTIR spectroscopy.
Be able to contribute to technical reports and proposals.
