Director Science and Technology ( Senior Engineer/Scientist)

As a Senior Engineer/Scientist your duties may include:
Assesses and develops technology leading to highly effective advanced capabilities for missile defense system upgrades, current and emerging technology development, technology transition, and acquisition strategy. Provide expertise on diverse science and engineering fields including:
Space sensors and systems Directed energy weapons systems Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) Materials science and structures Missile propulsion High maneuverability divert/axial propulsion, liquid and solid Divert and Attitude Control Systems (DACS) Guidance and control Target tracking and prediction Missile subsystem and components Aerodynamics and reentry physics Kill vehicle lethality enhancement and discrimination augmentation Prediction, quantification, and compensation of aero-optic effects of turbulence on imaging sensors Micro satellites Increases reliance by the missile defense elements on MOA-developed components requires the highest expertise to assess requirements and select best technologies to meet them. Provides reliable advice and counsel to the MDA Director, the Director, Innovation, Science & Technology, and other MDA personnel on areas related to science and engineering . This includes technical evaluation of contractor proposals, assessment of technical risk, and analysis of technical reports and briefings. Keeps abreast of technology developments as well as complete, up-to-date knowledge of the MDS requirements and status of system development throughout the MDA Innovation, Science & Technology Directorate and the MDS Program Elements. As the missile defense science & engineering technology spokesperson, interfaces within the MDA as well as with outside agencies, and technical groups. This includes technical and scientific consultation on all aspects of science and engineering technology, including system and component performance, capabilities for enhanced performance through technological improvements against a full spectrum of targets. Conducts technical reviews, identifies technology shortfalls, recommends solutions encompassing multiple science and engineering fields, operation, performance analysis, develops policies arid implementation strategies for program planning and initiation activities, establishes criteria, provides guidance, recommends alternatives, and ensures execution and compliance. Initiates plans, develops, and delivers vital scientific and technical efforts in the fields of science and engineering . Lead science and engineering technology development programs. Provides technical insight and reliable advice to Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs. Evaluates SBIR proposals, makes recommendations and manages SBIR programs. Evaluates proposals for the MDA University research program. Prepares and presents comprehensive technical reports and briefings to audiences at all technical and scientific levels. Mentors scientists and engineers in the Innovation, Science & Technology Directorate and the MDA. Supports MDA diversity and workforce development. Performs other duties as assigned. This position is in the Scientific and Professional (ST) criteria. The ST members are involved in the performance of high-level research and development in the physical, biological, medical, or engineering sciences, or a closely-related field. Qualifications:
The best-qualified candidates will be distinguished from other applicants by an evaluation panel or senior level subject matter experts. The applicant is to provide a separate narrative statement to each of the following technical qualifications, which describes fully, but concisely, how his/her experience supports each of the following qualifications. Each technical qualification narrative should not exceed two (2) pages. Failure to address these specific qualifications in a separate narrative statement will eliminate you from consideration:
1. Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of engineering/physical science with extensive hands-on experiences in many environments including laboratories, production facilities, and program offices. Experiences should include theoretical calculations, simulations and modeling of components, structures, and systems. 2. Comprehensive knowledge of weapon system architectures, threats, missions, and issues, as well as skill in communicating and coordinating with other highly regarded scientists and engineers in diverse fields related to technology, and with technical officials in MDA, OSD, Military Services, Defense Agencies, industry and academia. 3. Wide range skills and experience in the application of scientific methods, problem definitions, as well as planning and execution of complex technical studies, experiments and component development. This should include the ability to form teams to pursue joint research and development activities with partners from the services, other agencies, industry, and academia. Failure to meet any one of the technical qualifications requirements automatically disqualifies an applicant from further consideration. Applicants must be recognized as leading authorities in the fields of physical science and/or engineering. Specialized experience must include nationally recognized experience with space sensors and missile defense systems. At least one year of the specialized experience must be at least equivalent to the GS-15 level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
