Chemical Operator - 12 hour Rotating Night Shift
Location:
Huntsville, AL
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Observe all safety rules and wear appropriate PPE, where required.
Report all safety incidents, unsafe acts and conditions
Operate calciner and other equipment required to oxidize tungsten scrap
Load feeders to calciners using barrel grab, forklift, shovel and crane
Monitor and control calciners, adjusting feed rate on screw feeders, changing temperatures and air flow for optimum conditions
Operate furnaces to dry feed material
Chart production rate from each unit on an hourly basis
Keep area clean and free of clutter
Perform other reasonable and related duties as assigned
Equipment Used:
Personal Protective Equipment, Barrel Grab, Forklift, Shovel, Crane, and Scales
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Must be able to read and write
Basic Mathematical Skills
Record Keeping Skills
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to use both hands at the same time while pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, lifting, stooping, and walking
Must have good eye/hand coordination with all physical movements well-coordinated
Must be able to work for long periods, while standing
Must be able to lift a minimum of 33 lbs.

Education/Experience Guidelines:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prefer one year experience working in a manufacturing environment
